Hypertext Transfer Protocol Version 2 (HTTP/2)

RFC 7540 defined HTTP/2, the binary multiplexed successor to HTTP/1.1, introducing header compression (HPACK) and server push. It serves as the transport foundation for gRPC, which uses HTTP/2 framing, headers, and stream multiplexing. RFC 7540 has been obsoleted by RFC 9113.
