A file transfer protocol that uses SSH for both authentication and encryption, allowing files to be copied between a local host and a remote host or between two remote hosts with a simple command-line syntax. SCP is widely available on Unix-like systems as the `scp` command. It is simpler than SFTP but lacks interactive features such as directory listing, file management, and resumable transfers.
