WebDAV (Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning)

An extension to HTTP (RFC 4918) that adds methods for collaborative file management on remote web servers, including PROPFIND, MKCOL, COPY, MOVE, LOCK, and UNLOCK. WebDAV allows clients to create, read, update, delete, and lock files as if they were on a local filesystem. It is used by cloud storage services, content management systems, and operating system file managers to mount remote directories over HTTP.
