Abstract
RFC 8441 defines a mechanism for bootstrapping WebSocket connections over HTTP/2 streams using an extended CONNECT method. This allows WebSocket and HTTP/2 multiplexing to coexist on the same connection, improving efficiency compared to the HTTP/1.1-only Upgrade mechanism of RFC 6455.
