Abstract
RFC 7239 standardizes the Forwarded HTTP header as a replacement for the non-standard X-Forwarded-For, X-Forwarded-Host, and X-Forwarded-Proto headers. It provides a structured way for proxies and load balancers to communicate client IP, protocol, and host information to origin servers.
