Abstract
RFC 3265 defined the SIP event notification framework using the SUBSCRIBE and NOTIFY request methods, enabling SIP user agents to subscribe to and receive notifications about events such as presence, message waiting, and call state. It has been obsoleted and replaced by RFC 6665.
