Abstract
RFC 3262 defines the PRACK request method and the 100rel extension tag for SIP, enabling reliable transmission of provisional responses (1xx other than 100 Trying). Without PRACK, provisional responses are sent unreliably over UDP; this extension adds acknowledgment to ensure delivery of ringing and progress responses.
