HTTP 206 Partial Content vs 403 Forbidden

HTTP 206 (Partial Content) is a 2xx Success response, while 403 (Forbidden) is a 4xx Client Error response. 206 indicates that the server is delivering only part of the resource due to a Range header sent by the client. Used for resumable downloads and video streaming. In contrast, 403 means that the server understood the request but refuses to authorize it. Unlike 401, authentication will not help — the user simply does not have permission.
