SIP Proxy Server

An intermediary server that routes SIP requests on behalf of user agents, performing lookup, authentication, and policy enforcement. Stateless proxies forward requests without remembering transaction state; stateful proxies track all SIP transactions and can fork requests to multiple destinations. A proxy adds a Via header to each request it forwards and removes it from responses. Outbound proxies are configured on endpoints to route all traffic through the provider network.
